Being of service to others is one of the principles we hold truest to our hearts. And with over 41 million women being affected by Arthritis each year, we find it a privilege that we can make a difference by helping to raise money for our international philanthropy, the Arthritis Foundation. Starting this spring, we now hold a philanthropy event called "Spike- Out Arthritis" and donate the proceeds to the Arthritis Foundation. We our proud to say AOII has in total donated over $2 million dollars since 1967. And just in the 2015-2016 fiscal year AOII donated $26, 621 towards Arthritis Research and $173, 688 towards juvenile arthritis research. Chi Lambda specifically champions juvenile arthritis as most people think it only affects adults. In fact, one of our own sisters who graduated in 2014 had juvenile arthritis and received treatment and help from money donated by her future sisters. Although there are other philanthropies that are more well known, we firmly believe we are positively impacting others and are helping to shed light on a cause that most people are not aware of. We wish and dream for the day when Arthritis will be completely spiked out.

Campus PhilanthropyAlthough The Arthritis Foundation is our main philanthropy, we also participate and donate to philanthropies on campus as well. From Sig-Ep A-Go-Go, Phi Mu's "Rock For Riley", DOZ's "Price is Right", Chi O's "Dishes-for-Wishes, Zeta Tau Alpha's "Best Man on Campus", Lambda Chi's "Watermelon Bust", Tau Kappa Epsilon's "Glamour Girl," Phi Kappa Tau's "Phi Day Night Live," and Sigma Alpha Epsilon's "Paddy Murphy Beauty Pageant," we volunteer for them all.

Evansville CommunityFor us, being an AOII comes second to being a student. We are not only proud to attend the University of Evansville but love giving back to the Evansville community as well. From passing out Chuck A Pucks at the Ford Center to cleaning up highways for Adopt-A-Highway and mulching local parks, there is nothing we wouldn't do to help better our campus and our community.

Holly's House & Sisters For SoldiersOur local philanthropy is Holly's House, a resource center for women and children that are victims of domestic violence. Sisters will go there and babysit while the mothers are interviewing for jobs or attend to any needs around the house. We also write cards for soldiers as apart of the Sisters For Soldiers program to let them know we are thinking about them as they serve and protect our country.
